Telugu Lyrics
(Scene 2: A conversation between Anasuya and her father.)
English Lyrics / Transliteration
Anasuya: How much do you think you’ll spend on your wedding?
Friend: Oh, how would I know that? It’s all my father’s wish.
Anasuya: For a wedding, one must look at the groom’s nature, intellect, character, demeanor, family, and wealth, shouldn’t they, dear?
Friend: Yes dear, that’s true. But, in these times, it’s difficult to choose and marry after looking at everyone so well.
Anasuya: Even if it’s difficult, one must try. It’s not good to put your future in the hands of such people.
Friend: Alright Anasuya, your words have touched my heart.
(Scene 2: A conversation between Anasuya and her father.)
Father: Anasuya, I’m thinking about your wedding. If a good proposal comes, I want to do it quickly.
Anasuya: Father, why the hurry? I still want to study.
Father: Education isn’t an obstacle to marriage, is it, dear? But, some say it’s not good to give too much education to girls these days.
Anasuya: Don’t believe such talk, father. Society improves only when girls are educated.
Father: Tell me your opinion too, dear. What kind of person do you want?
Anasuya: I want someone with intellect, character, and a good heart, father. Wealth and property are not important to me.
Father: I pray to God that your wish is fulfilled.
